Team Golden Valley Fire Raises $6,000 For American Lung Association
The Golden Valley Fire Department participated in its 12th consecutive Fight For Air Climb at US Bank Plaza in Minneapolis, Feb 23. The event brought together over 100 teams, including 44 fire department teams to raise funds for the American Lung Association.
This year team Golden Valley Fire raised $6,324, and Golden Valley Fire Battalion Chief Ken Bence raised the third most amount of money for individuals of the event, with almost $4,000. Over 12 years the GVFD has raised nearly $125,000 for the American Lung Association Fight For Air Climb.
8 team members made the regular climb (wearing up to 70 lbs of firefighting gear), and two made the ultimate climb (no gear, but up and down 31 flights multiple times in 60 minutes).
