Registration Now Open For Summer Parks And Rec Programs

Registration is now open for Golden Valley Parks and Recreation summer programs and it’s time to start planning! The City offers plenty of fun programs for all ages, including a few new ones.

Summer Playground Adventure 2.0: Featuring bigger games, longer days, and themed weeks, Summer Playground 2.0 invites children to join the Parks and Recreation staff for weeks of outdoor summer activities. Designed for kids ages 7–12, the program runs Mon–Thu, 9 am–3 pm, at Hampshire Park. Register for two weeks and receive a third week 50 percent off. More information.

Junior Rangers: Are your kids looking to spend their summer outdoors gaining experience with longer bike rides? Junior Rangers provides kids an experience of round-trip bike rides ranging from 4–7 miles. Participants will meet at Davis Community Center and spend afternoons exploring Golden Valley and the surrounding area by visiting beaches, parks, and more! More information.

A “Great Getaway” At William O’Brien State Park, July 26: Spend the day exploring the banks of the St Croix River and hiking through rolling wooded hills. Participants ages 7–14 will also enjoy a presentation from a DNR specialist and investigate wildlife through interpretive exhibits in the park’s visitor center. The field trip departs from Lions Park at 9 am and returns at 4 pm. More information.
