June Features An Assortment Of Activities For Adults 55+

The Golden Valley Parks and Recreation 55+ Adult Programs Office has a packed schedule in June with activities almost anyone will enjoy.

June 6, 2–3:15 pm – Living Wise And Well

Held at the Calvary Center Cooperative Prairie Room, this program offers information each month for a happy, healthier you in hopes of leading people to live longer and healthier lives. No pre-registration required and the program is co-sponsored with Calvary Center Cooperative.

June 12, 9 am–1 pm – Defensive Driving

Adults age 55+, save up to 10 percent, 3-year discount on car insurance premiums and become a better driver by taking a state-approved National Safety Council Defensive Driving course like this one. No tests are given but attendance is required to receive the certificate of completion. Visit the Ongoing Activities page to learn how to register.

June 20, 10–11:15 – Money Matters

With rising consumer costs, finances and investments are of more interest than ever. Learn the Top 10 Do’s And Dont’s Of Estate Planning at this month’s Money Matters presentation. This event is free and requires no registration although donations accepted for refreshments. This program is held at Brookview Golden Valley in the Valley Room.

June 26, 9:45–11 am – Coffee Talk

Enjoy coffee, juice, and pastries while learning about the importance of body cameras and how the Golden Valley Police Department uses them everyday. Register ahead of time by calling 763-512-2345 and the registration cost of $2 is payable at the door.
