Two CenterPoint Projects Expect To Start In Early October

Two CenterPoint projects will cause traffic delays on Glenwood Ave starting Oct 7 and Winnetka Ave starting Oct 8. Both projects are expected to take at least three weeks to complete. For questions about either project, contact the City’s Engineering Department at 763-593-8030.

Glenwood Ave

CenterPoint Energy will be working on Glenwood Ave just east of Hwy 100 to replace a distribution main. The project will require a lane shift around the work area, but Glenwood Ave will remain open to traffic. However, due to the alignment of the lane shift, drivers should still expect delays, especially during rush hour. The lane shift will be set up Mon, Oct 7 and in place for approximately three weeks.

Winnetka Ave

CenterPoint Energy is currently working to wrap up its Beltline Replacement project in Golden Valley to have the project done this fall. The project started earlier in the summer along Sumter Ave and Wayzata Blvd, and is expected to be completed by Nov 1. Work will require a closure of northbound Winnetka Ave from Laurel Ave to Western Ave beginning Tuesday, Oct 8. Traffic will be routed around the detour via Laurel Ave, Jersey Ave, Glenwood Ave and Hwy 55 (see map). Southbound Winnetka Ave will remain open to drivers.
