Two Large Construction Projects Set To Begin This Week In Golden Valley

Commuters who use Winnetka Ave and Glenwood Ave will experience delays over the next few weeks as two CenterPoint Energy construction projects expect to begin this week.

Glenwood Ave

CenterPoint Energy will be working on Glenwood Ave just east of Hwy 100 to replace a distribution main. The project requires a lane shift but the road will remain open to traffic. Drivers should still expect delays, especially during rush hour. The lane shift will be set up Mon, Oct 7 and in place for approximately three weeks.

Winnetka Ave

CenterPoint Energy will be wrapping up its Beltline Replacement project in Golden Valley and will finish with work on northbound Winnetka Ave from Laurel Ave to Western Ave beginning Tue, Oct 8. Traffic will be routed around the detour via Laurel Ave, Jersey Ave, Glenwood Ave, and Hwy 55 (see map). Southbound Winnetka Ave will remain open to drivers. Work is expected to be completed by Nov 1.

For questions about either project, contact the City’s Engineering Department at 763-593-8030.
