Learn About New Presidential Primary Format Nov 9, 9:30 AM At Brookview
The 2020 presidential primaries will feature a new format for both the Democratic and Republican parties. The League of Women Voters West Metro Alliance (LWV) is hosting a forum Nov 9, 9:30 am at Brookview to inform voters about the new primary as well as the continuing role of precinct caucuses.
The 2020 Minnesota primaries take place March 3, 2020. Knowing how the primary and caucuses work is essential to participating and having a voice in nominating candidates for the 2020 general election. Forum speakers include Michael Wall, Outreach & Elections Specialist, Secretary of State Office; Becky Alery, Communications Director, Republican Party Minnesota; and Kay Lewis, Secretary Congressional District 3, Democratic Farmer Labor Party.
The forum will be moderated by a LWV member and will begin with a 30 minute coffee and social period at 9:30 am. The program will be 10– 11:30 am.
The nonpartisan League of Women Voters encourages active, informed participation in government. LWV never supports or opposes any candidate or political party.
