Run The Valley While Assisting Local Human Service Organizations

How can you give back to your community and have fun at the same time? Run The Valley, coming up April 18, provides one opportunity to do just that. Now is the time to sign up to walk or run and help make Golden Valley a better place.

Each year Run The Valley raises money for the Golden Valley Human Services Commission (GVHSC). The Commission then advises the City Council regarding how to allocate the money to organizations that benefit Golden Valley residents in need.

One organization the GVHSC works with is Northwest Suburban Dinner At Your Door. The service pprovides hot nourishing meals to people who are homebound and unable to prepare a home-cooked meal. This service allows these residents to stay in the comfort of their own homes longer. Funds will be used to supplement clients unable to afford delivery and subsidize meal costs. For 2020, the GVHSC allocated $9,000 to Northwest Suburban Dinner At Your Door.
