City Of Golden Valley Closing Facilities, Canceling Activities And Events

Following Minnesota Department of Health guidelines to help slow the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and out of an abundance of caution, the City of Golden Valley is closing its facilities and suspending programs and events March 14 through April 3.
At this time, MDH is recommending following a “minimal to moderate” level of mitigation as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). This includes implementing social distancing measures, reducing activities, and canceling large gatherings of 250 or more people and any gathering of 10 or more people that include high-risk populations.
Facilities closed to the public through April 3 include:
- Golden Valley City Hall (7800 Golden Valley Rd)
- Golden Valley DMV (7800 Golden Valley Rd)
- Brookview Golden Valley, including Brookview Backyard, Brookview Golf & Lawn Bowling, Three One Six Bar + Grill, and Brookview Events & Celebrations (316 Brookview Parkway S)
City employees will be available by telephone and email during the closure.
Programs, Events, Meetings
All Golden Valley Parks & Recreation activities, classes, programs, and events are canceled or postponed through April 3. This includes all non-City events scheduled through April 3 at Brookview Golden Valley.
The March 17 City Council meeting will be held as scheduled. All City Board and Commission meetings are canceled through April 3 with the exception of the March 23 Planning Commission meeting. The public is encouraged to participate in the council and commission meetings by submitting comments ahead of time be email or phone or by watching online.
Before the City reopens facilities April 4, its Emergency Management Team will evaluate the situation following MDH guidelines.
