Night To Unite Switched To Virtual Event; Residents Encouraged To Donate To Local Food Shelf

To help protect the health and safety of Golden Valley residents and officers, this year’s Night To Unite will be a virtual event on Oct 6. And although officers won’t be making the usual visits to neighborhoods, they’ll be on hand at the Public Safety building to take food donations for PRISM, and they challenge the community to donate as much non-perishable food as possible to help neighbors in need.

To participate, bring non-perishable food items to the Public Safety parking lot Oct 6, 5–8 pm. Enter via Golden Valley Rd and drive through one of two donation lanes. After GVPD staff members remove items from the vehicle, drivers will follow staff direction to exit via Rhode Island Ave.

When donating you must:

  • wear a face mask and stay in the vehicle at all times
  • have all donations in boxes or bags
  • keep all donations in the trunk or backseat for easy/safe unloading by staff

If you’re unable to donate during the drop-off time Oct 6, please take your items directly to PRISM. Learn more at

Watch the City website and social media for details about the virtual Night To Unite. For more information on the Night To Unite Food Drive for PRISM, call 763-593-8079.
