City Plows Out For The First Major Snowfall Of The Season
October 20, 2020
City crews will be out plowing until 4 pm this afternoon and will pick back up early the morning of Wed, Oct 21. The City will assess the need for further plowing as the storm progresses.
Follow these tips to do your part:
- Don’t crowd the plow. Plows travel slower than other vehicles. Reduce your speed and try to stay at least 100 feet away from all plows.
- Don’t pass snowplow vehicles while they’re plowing. Visibility is already limited and plow drivers want to avoid any and all dangerous situations.
- Keep obstructions like garbage and recycling bins, sleds, and basketball hoops out of the street and sidewalks and out of the snowplow’s path.
- Stay away from the end of your driveway when a plow is approaching. Rocks or ice could be hidden in the piles of snow.
