At its Sept 3 meeting, the Golden Valley City Council considered bids to install bike lanes on five streets this fall. Project bids came in higher than expected, and the Council elected to postponed the project. The project is expected to be rebid in 2020.
As a continuation of the fall 2018 project, street and signal improvements have been made to several streets in the Xenia Ave/Golden Hills Dr area over the last few months. Starting Aug 12, the work will require a road closure of Golden Hills Dr, just west of the Canadian Pacific Railroad to Colorado Rd. The road is expected to reopen Aug 16.
The City of Minneapolis project to repair seven catch basins and one manhole has been delayed and is now scheduled to begin Aug 19 with the completion date of Aug 23. During this time, the parkway will be closed to vehicle traffic between Golden Valley Rd and Plymouth Ave N.
CenterPoint Energy will begin replacing a gas main on the south side of Glenwood Ave between Maddaus Ln and Hwy 100 and on Natchez Ave N, beginning Aug 5. The work will take approximately three weeks to complete.
The City of Minneapolis is performing catch basin repair near the eastern border of Golden Valley that requires a full closure of Theodore Wirth Pkwy beginning Aug 1. The road is expected to reopen by Aug 5.
Weather permitting, work on the guardrails on Noble Ave (from Culver Rd north to the fire hydrant) is scheduled to begin the week of July 29. The road will remain open to traffic, but delays may occur during work hours.
