Despite weather challenges, such as heavy rains this summer, crews have kept the Golden Valley Rd (County Rd 66) bridge project on schedule. Last weekend, they successfully completed the concrete foundation for the new bridge over Bassett Creek, the most time-intensive step of the project.
The next stage of CenterPoint Energy’s 2018 Belt Line Project has crews installing natural gas main along Golden Valley Rd between Bassett Creek and Duluth St. Starting July 26, that section of road will be restricted to one lane.
Golden Hills Dr between Colorado Ave S and Xenia Ave S will be closed July 9-12, 2018 to replace the railroad crossing. Traffic will be detoured around the work area via Xenia Ave, Laurel Ave, and Colorado Ave.
The bridge that carries the Bassett Creek Trail between Crystal and Golden Valley is set to be closed the week of June 25th due to construction. Work is scheduled to last about a month and the bridge is expected to reopen by August 31.
New road closures have been announced for the CenterPoint Energy Belt Line Project along Golden Valley Rd, as well as for a City of Plymouth street project affecting the 26th Ave ramps to and from Hwy 169.
Due to the nature of the work, the geography of the area, and the levels of traffic local streets are designed for, all through motor vehicle traffic on Golden Valley Rd (County Rd 66) needs to use the official detour to get around the Golden Valley Rd bridge closure.
As part of CenterPoint Energy’s 2018 Belt Line Project, crews will close Theodore Wirth Parkway at Zenith Ave June 1-8 to install the natural gas main. Dates of week-long closure may vary a few days depending on the weather.
For the past few months, crews have been working toward completing many final tasks on the Douglas Drive project. This work will include closing some lanes on Hwy 55 at the Douglas Dr intersection starting mid- to late-week May 28.
