The aging metal culverts that carry Bassett Creek under 10th Ave and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks are set for replacement starting late this month. The City has scheduled an informational open house Aug 22, from 5 to 7 pm, in the City Hall Council Chambers, to give residents and business owners the opportunity to ask questions regarding the schedule and impacts of the project.
Thanks to a cooperative effort between the City and the neighborhood, North Tyrol Park shade trees and vegetation, which were lost in a 2011 tornado, have been restored.
Time is running out to submit your photos in the City’s 21th annual Views of the Valley photo contest. Winning entries are published in CityNews and the City website. First prize winners in each category receive $50; grand prize is an additional $50. The People’s Choice winner will receive $25. Deadline for photo entries is June 7.
