Weathering The Storm: Tornadoes

Current News Posted on April 10, 2025

Tornadoes are violent and unpredictable storms capable of destroying homes and throwing debris at high speeds. They can happen at any time, day or night, and it’s important to understand the difference between a tornado watch, tornado warning, and tornado emergency.

  • Tornado Watch: Conditions are favorable for tornadoes. Be prepared to act quickly.
  • Tornado Warning: A tornado has been sighted or indicated by radar. Take shelter immediately.
  • Tornado Emergency: A catastrophic tornado has touched down. Seek shelter immediately and remain there until it’s safe. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. If you’re in a mobile home or outside, find a nearby shelter immediately.
