Starting Monday, May 19, eastbound Golden Valley Rd will close between Wisconsin Ave and Winnetka Ave for up to eight weeks to support a CenterPoint Energy natural gas project and related roadway improvements near 8200 Golden Valley Rd.
During the closure, crews will replace portions of the natural gas system to maintain safe and reliable service. In addition, the developer of the new apartment buildings at 8200 Golden Valley Rd will complete roadway improvements adjacent to the site.
The Golden Valley Shopping Center will not be accessible from Golden Valley Rd during construction, but access will remain open from Winnetka Ave and Golden Valley Dr. A signed detour will redirect traffic along Wisconsin Ave, 10th Ave, and Winnetka Ave. The 8200 Golden Valley Rd work zone is located closer to Wisconsin Ave and is not shown on the detour map.
Drivers should plan for extra travel time and follow posted signage in the area.
