The City is proud to observe National Public Works Week (NPWW), held this year from May 18 through 24, 2025. Sponsored by the American Public Works Association (APWA), this annual recognition honors the dedication and essential services provided by public works professionals.
The theme for 2025 is “People, Purpose, Presence,” and highlights the foundational values that drive the work of public works staff every day. These individuals serve the public with consistency, ensuring the safety, accessibility, and functionality, of the infrastructure the community depends on.
Public works encompasses a broad range of services, including street, vehicle, park, and utility maintenance, among others. This work is often performed in challenging conditions and outside of public view, but it’s essential to the City’s operations and residents’ quality of life.
Throughout the week, the City will be highlighting individual employees through a series of staff spotlights on LinkedIn, offering a glimpse into the diverse roles and individuals that make up the Golden Valley Public Works team.
