Each year, more than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of hospitals, and about 90 percent are fatal, according to the American Heart Association. However, survival rates increase to about 45 percent when bystanders provide Hands-Only® CPR.
As part of Golden Valley’s commitment to being a Heart Safe Community, the City is offering a $10 Hands-Only® CPR and AED training session on Thursday, June 12, 7 to 8:30 pm in the Brookview Lower Room. This class teaches life-saving skills that could help a co-worker, family member, or stranger during an emergency. No prior CPR training is necessary.
