The Golden Valley Police Department (GVPD) is alerting residents of approximately 15 vehicle break-ins as part of a multi-jurisdictional crime spree occurring in apartment complex surface parking lots. The incident took place in the early morning hours of Aug 19, 2025, near Laurel Ave and Turners Xrd. Authorities will be conducting additional overnight patrols in the affected areas and urge residents to take precautionary measures to prevent further incidents.
While investigations are ongoing, the GVPD encourages all residents to follow safety protocols, particularly between 10 pm and 6 am. Police also remind community members about the importance of the 9PM Routine, a nationwide campaign promoting crime prevention habits.
Tips For Preventing Apartment Break-Ins And Thefts:
- Close and lock all vehicle windows and doors, even in secured parking garages.

- If you park outside your residence, follow 9PM Routine safety steps.
