“Belonging By Design: A City Woven Together” is part of Golden Valley’s commitment to the core values of community, inclusion, respect, and accountability. Public input will directly guide recommendations and shape City operations in hopes of building a more inclusive community.
The City’s Equity Division is launching this initiative to build stronger relationships, gain a better understanding of community needs, and to ensure resources, policies, and practices meet the needs of all community members.
The project’s first year will focus on using direct engagement and dialogue to understand the experiences of community members living with emotional, mental, and/or physical disabilities. To achieve this goal, the City is seeking the following to participate in both individual interviews and focus groups:
- individuals of this community who live, work, or play in Golden Valley (compensation is provided!)
- organizations that provide disability awareness, support, and services
The project starts in October 2025 and will wrap up in February 2026. Interviews begin at the start of November 2025 and end in December 2025.
