The Golden Valley Historical Society (GVHS), in collaboration with the Golden Valley Rotary Club, is hosting a program at 7 pm Thursday, Nov 13, about how two local organizations–Golden Valley’s Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute and Rotary Clubs–played a key role in ending polio.
Guest speakers include Erika Schuld, director of post-acute and community services at the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, and Tim Mulcrone, polio eradication chair for Rotary District 5950. After the presentation, attendees can make a donation to support polio vaccinations around the world. The Golden Valley Rotary Club has pledged to match all contributions up to $2,000.
The program will be held at the Society’s Historic Church, 6731 Golden Valley Rd. The event is free and open to all; no registration required.
