Last spring the City of Golden Valley partnered with Tree Trust to host its first ever tree sale, and residents have another opportunity to help restore the urban canopy with the 2025 Spring Tree Sale. Lottery registration is open from Feb 3–28.
The lottery style system means residents will have to register for the chance to purchase a tree. Lottery winners will be notified March 3–7 and will be able to purchase trees March 7–May 1. Pick up will be at Lions Park east parking lot on May 15 and 16 from 4–7 pm.
The City prioritizes equitable access to green infrastructure. Residents in environmental justice priority areas may qualify for discounts, making it easier for everyone to participate. Planting new trees enhances climate resilience, improves air quality, and reduces stormwater runoff. It also supports the City’s commitment to mitigating the impact of Emerald Ash Borer, which has devastated trees across the community.
