Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you have a heart for supporting human service needs? If so, you might be the perfect fit for the City’s Community Services Commission (CSC).
The CSC exists to address human service needs in the community and advise the City Council on funding allocations for those needs. Members work to identify community needs, develop guidelines to evaluate funding requests, review funding requests, make recommendations for fund allocations, and encourage and enlist participation from the greater Golden Valley Community.
Ideal candidates for the CSC enjoy helping others, feel a strong sense of compassion for the community, and are willing to volunteer at fundraisers. Appointments for the CSC are made effective May 1 of every year. The City Council appoints four regular members for staggered three-year terms and one youth member. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month, from July to November, 6:30 pm at Brookview.
Applications are due April 5. To learn more, visit the Community Services Commission web page.
