Municipal Offices on 2025 Ballot

Offices up for election in 2025 are:

two council members for a term of four years commencing Jan 1, 2026, and expiring Dec 31, 2029

Tuesday, July 29 – Candidate filing begins. Golden Valley residents may file to run for two City Council seats (four-year terms).
Tuesday, August 12 – Candidate filing closes at 5 pm.
Friday, Sept 19 – Absentee voting begins. Vote by mail or at City Hall (2nd Floor, City Clerk's Office, 7800 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, MN 55427) Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.
Tuesday, Oct 14 – Last day to pre-register before Election Day
- People always have the option to register or update their registration when they vote in person on Election Day or when they vote early by absentee ballot.
Friday, Oct 17 – Early voting by Direct Ballot begins at City Hall at 8 am.
- Residents who vote in person at City Hall are able to place their ballot into a tabulator just like on Election Day.
Tuesday, Nov 4 – Election Day
- Polls Open: 7 am to 8 pm (check your polling place)
