Ȟaȟá Wakpádaŋ/Bassett Creek Restoration Project

Creek Restoration Project History MapThe City of Golden Valley and the Bassett Creek Watershed Management Commission are working on the design and construction of a stream restoration project along Ȟaȟá Wakpádaŋ/Bassett Creek from Regent Ave N to Golden Valley Rd (see maps to the right and below).

This proposed project will:

  • stabilize streambanks
  • reduce erosion
  • improve water quality and ecosystem health
  • increase community resilience to climate change

Currently, the BCWMC is evaluating this 7,000-foot section by surveying streambank conditions and identifying areas where banks need to be stabilized and where stream habitat can be improved.

The City is working with the BCWMC to gather input from residents along the creek during the design phase.
