On Feb 16, 9:30 pm, a Golden Valley police officer was dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 3000 block of Major Ave N in Golden Valley. Once the officer located the vehicle, it drove off and crashed into a snowbank shortly after.
There were two suspects in the vehicle, and one of them fired at least five shots at officers before fleeing on foot. The Golden Valley Police Department and assisting agencies did not return fire and were able to locate and take the suspect into custody and find the gun that was used. A second suspect was taken into custody from the vehicle without incident.
The incident is believed to be linked to a home burglary in the area of the original call, and investigators are still working on the case. No one was injured in the incident.
